The reformed church, named Grote of Maria Magdalenakerk, is a cruciform church in late-Gothic. Although it is in genuine Brabantine Gothic style, most of the church was built in 1619-1621, when the church had been in protestant hands for decades and many years after the glory days of Gothicism.

Despite an official ban on their religion, Goes continued to have a sizeable catholic minority. The current St. Maria Magdalena replaced a smaller church bult in 1815 and itself dates from 1905-1908. It's a cruciform church in neo-Gothic style, designed by A.A.J. Margry, Jos. Margry and J.M. Snickers.

The Gereformeerde Westerkerk is a church in moderate Expressionistic style, typical for the Gereformeerde denomination in that period. It was built in 1929 and was designed by A. Rothuizen.
